  • Info on 2008 Golf required please

Hi guys Info on 2008 Golf required please, i only have had this car for 6 weeks, all i know its a 2008 turbo diesel DSG. The rest of the info i dont know. Maybe i should look for the compliance plate.
Was wondering what oil is the best to use, the dealer says 5-30 Castrol.
Also the coolant, i had a caravelle before this and was using G12++, so wondering if this is ok.And one more, i think i need new rear disc pads and would like info on what to buy, my dealer wanted vin number etc as there were about 8 different ones they used.

    thanks in advance

Look in the lubrication and oil thread The oil you need must be 504.00/507.00 nothing else will do as it the only oil aproved by VW

You can only buy the Castrol professional long life 3 from a Vw dealer and its not cheap

$85 or thereabouts for fully synthetic oil isn't that bad.

Also try Penrite Enviro +. It's 504/507 compliant as well.

Rememeber, the viscosity is irelevent. The labels must state that the oil is 504/507 compliant.
