  • Car opened windows on its own while parked

    Hi,

Went shopping the other day and locked the car (MKV Golf) with the windows up and windcreen wipers in their normal position. I get back to the car 30 minutes later and all 4 windows were down about 2 to 3 inches and the windscreen wipers had moved into the vertical position.

I'm hoping I'm not developing an electrical fault.

Has this ever happened to anyone ?

    Thanks

The same happaned to me twice already - I got the car (TDI Jetta) since last march...
First it scared **** out me - I thought someone tried to steal the car cos the windows were all way down!
The second time though it happaned just infront of me - a few days ago actually... I'm also wondering for the reason

Weren't holding the unlock button on the key?
This rolls all windows down on my GTI remotely.
Can't explain wipers other than key in ignition and push down to mist, moves wipers to vertical to allow changing rubbers etc.

I think this has happened to me too, I was pretty sure I left the windows up.

I have experienced this twice myself in the last couple of months - rather mine will go down 3-4" straight after i remove the keys from the ignition.

Its noted for the next service

You don't need a mechanic. You need a priest.
