          Like torque and mid-range acceleration.
Finish, comfort and economy on long trips.
Lots of fruit that all seems to work.
no issues but we dont punt hard either.

Negatives are few, and would only be very rare and intermittent hesistation from stopped and intermittent bleep from the 310 when playing CDs, neither of which the dealer accepts as fixable faults.
Not a DSG fan, would probably get a manual next time.
Oh and the wife likes driving it so much its hard to keep clean.

Hi, I'm looking at purchasing one (manual though) and wanted to try and get an idea of how much more these cars are to service (price wise) compared to your standard Toyota, Holden, Ford etc.??

              Thanks

I no longer have a MKV GTI now, but from memory, 30k was $450, 45k was $600 and 60K was $1300 (negotiated down to $1050). These are dealer prices, so expect a bit lower from VAG specialist. You'dprobably get a better job done aswell from some non dealer shops.

Awesome, thanks heaps. So 60k sounds like a big one. Cuz I'm looking at buying one with around 50-60k on the clock. Why do you say that you get a better job done from a non dealer?? I think there are a couple in Toowoomba but not sure. What car do have now??

60K service for DSG cars is more expensive than manuals.

Dealer didn't reset service reminder or replace cabin filter.

MY08 Jetta 147Kw DSG, Powerchip ECU flash at 1,500 klms

Had it since new and it has covered 105,000klms

                            Good
                            Power
Fuel economy - Life time average of 7.2 litre per 100 kilometres, trip average as low as 5.7 and as high as 13.3 (lead footing)
                            Solid feel
                            Comfort
Brake life, still have the original front brakes, rears where done 2,000 klms ago
Tyre life, original continentals lasted 62,000 klms

                            Not so good
Oil use (2-3 litres between services) I think the positive is that the engine is loose so makes good power
Had the PCV replaced at 80,000klms
Not that great in cross winds
Too much understeer which can be fixed easy

In summary a very good vehicle.

Previous vehicle was a Polo GTi 2006 also chipped by Powerchip

                              Model: Golf GT Sport TSI
                              Engine: 1.4l petrol twincharged (125kw)
                              Year: 2008MY

Bought car as 3rd owner in May 2013.

                              Positives
                              - Supercharger whine
                              - Good fuel economy
                              - Comfortable with good ride (although can get a bit fidgety over potholes and manhole covers)
                              - Solid build quality after 99,000km
                              - You can't tell when the SC stops and the TC takes over - an engineering marvel of an engine
                              - Quiet on the freeway

                              Negatives
                              - N249 & N75 failure about a month after I bought it ($400 to fix)
                              - A/C Compressor failure ($1200 to fix)
                              - Due to high torque, gets wheelspin easily in the dry and can be tricky to manage in the wet (anti-lift kit should fix this)
                              - Hot days (QLD summer) can give a noticeable drop in performance. Being twin-charged it really does like cold air
                              - Monumental amounts of brake dust. It gets everywhere is and very difficult to shift, even using a wheel cleaner solution
                              MY08 Mk5 GT Sport - sold
                              MY14 Tiguan 118TSI - sold (Mazda3 SP25GT in its place)
MY16 Golf 7R: sold (Caterham Super 7 and Hyundai i30N in its place)
