Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Whoooo...it's official

We just signed on the weekend. New R32 is on it's way. Still pending delivery date etc. More details to come.

One question, anyone miss not having any fog lights?
With everything almost coming standard I just plain forgot that they don't even come as an option. Apparently something to do with better air flow to the engine.

Never used the ones on the GTI so wasn't a big loss on the R32.
    VW Golf R32 MkV
    Mini Cooper S

R32 is here and sounds awesome, loving the throttle blips on the down changes.

As for the wait, I'm not too fussed about it. It will be an 08 model so it will have the new wheels and bigger MFD =)

                      Congrat's mate....ur gunna love it!

I certainly don't have any complaints not having fog's, the standard xenons are brilliant (in every way!). In saying that tho', I am investigating the Audi S6 LEDs, have seen pic's and a how to and they look friggin' awesome!

Are they the ones that are like a bar that sit across the lower air vents as seen on the vortex forums? Appears that you screw them in.

Thats them. It's a bit more involved than just scewing in (see this thread: www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28117 ).

Visited my friendly local Audi dealer today to price (with a lot of trepidation I may add) as they are only available as an OEM part. Not on their system as yet, so waiting on a call back tomorrow.

Whilst there, I drove the new S5....what a car! Sexy as hell, goes hard (not as hard I thought it would tho', bit heavy), handling a revelation tho' (power split 40/60 front to rear), sounds like an 8 (but not as good as an RS4), rides incredibly well considering it was on the optional 19's....only problem was it wasn't an S6 so that I could pinch the LED's.....
