08 GTI upgrade to RCD510

Hi Guys,

Looking at upgrading to an RCD510 from the stock RCD500. I have a couple of questions about the install process if thats ok.

1. Being an 08 GTI i shouldn't need to update the canbus module?
2. Is it worth buying a vagcom for the install?
3. Will i need to do some coding for the steering wheel controls to work?

Anything else i should know before hand?

I did this upgrade and had to change the pins to enable "fader" see this ......
