  • Stock Lower plastic lip Mkv GTI

    Hi,

I have damaged that lower plastic lip on the front bumper of my Mkv GTI. It looks like a small insert which is attached to the bumper, its probably easier to show pics of the part I am talking about:

When I purchased the car it already had a noticeable dent/warp in the plastic and yesterday I managed to just lightly clip a cement block which was higher then expected and it looks like the lip has half popped out

Does anyone know the part number for it? I am hoping its just a the plastic insert not the entire lower bumper that will need replacing.

    Cheers,
    Jesse

    Hi Jesse.

VW won't let you buy lust the inner lip, you'll have to buy the whole valance.

I reckon if you took it off you could manage to fit it again. I've had mine pop out and it went back.

I've done this before. I hate those cement blocks in car parks!

It just needs to be clipped back in. From memory, you need to remove the mounting screws first before you can clip the front section back in. You shouldn't need to purchase anything...

If its out of shape ,just heat it up with a hair dryer and bend it back into the right shape .

Nonsense! Off course you can buy it - i bought one to add to my GT because this is exactly the part thats missing in GT front bars.

The part you need to get is 1K08071109B9. Its not cheap at $210.10. You can also get it from ESC tuning where its cheaper but I think with freight it may up at the same.
