  • Coilovers fitted!

Here's a quick sample pic (car is filthy and its just the iPhone camera)

I think I've sorted out the rubbing in the rear. Need to take it for a good run to be sure.

    Anyway more pics to come.

Btw dropped the rear skirt off to be painted tonight too!

hold on, howcome i've never seen this car around melbourne?

MJT, that looks really tidy! loving the white color, too

whatever you do, just dont go for a spirited fang around yarra bend....

me and gti_dave did so about an hour ago, and both of us were rubbing like a poor person on aladdin's lamp, even WITH the coilies set on quite firm at the front, in both cars.

just a friendly word of advice - some people might say this is overkill, but get yourself a can of the WD-40 with the snap-up nozzle/straw thingy, and spray the height adjustment threads on both front and back - a good healthy/generous squirt for each thread, once a week, should see them hopefully not seize up over time. even if you dont intend to raise the car at all, it'd still be cheap insurance IMO (some people might say it's pointless, but a can of the stuff is only $6 from bunnings and will last a few months, so why not...)

            moar better pics please

Thanks for the comments guys. Definitely try and clean it up and get some better pics.

buller_scott, im surprised i never make the spotted thread lol Car sits in the garage all week and comes out on the weekends so that might explain it. I have struggled to get to any meets this year also.

My mate just bought a Golf R so we will probably go for a run down the Great Ocean Road soon. That'll test out the rubbing! But i think i should be good unless there's people in the back or a pothole! Plus i think its only the carpet on the inside of the rears.

PS its not white, its silver

Currently with aami, but moving soon as they are too expensive. Had a good quote from youi, even better from racv if I take my house across (which I'll consider for a good discount)

The Buzz car insurance has a great price but have heard some horror stories online about claims gone wrong.

Aah fair enough, I am with allianz because they were the cheapest at the time, however am trying to convince dad (lol) to move to racv so i can have some fun with my car.

Good advice as you hear of people overseas (admittedly mostly where winter roads get salted) with the adjustment threads corroded solid. Even better is to use a silicone spray as these don't make the sprayed area all sticky so you don't get as much dirt build up and it won't react with any rubber in the area.
