Hi guys,
I've bought a GTI with about 90,000km on the clock and it has always been dealer serviced. Major service (timing belt, waterpump etc) has been done.
My mechanic (specialises in VWs) has recommended I get the fuel pump bucket replaced (no signs of any issues, just as maintenance), as the dealers never do them. I have no record of it ever having been replaced.
What do you guys think, does it need doing? I've searched both these forums and the web and can't find anything about this being needed to be done on GTIs.
I don't have any issues with getting it done if it's generally thought to be a recommended precaution, but also don't want to spend money needlessly.
Thanks in advance.
