  • Forge Blow Off Valve - Need Help

    Thinking about getting this:
    Forge Motorsport | Alloy Fabrication

    The Forge Blow off adapter

I have heard good and bad things about this. Just want to know if anyone has had problems with it, like decreased fuel economy, loss of power ect because i have read that it can cause this because of the ecu.

I have tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything.

Really? No one one on this forum can help?

    Hi there,

I have one of these in my Golf GT, so I may be able to answer your questions.

This is purely a noise-maker to replicate the atmospheric blow off sound you will typically hear in a dedicated blow off valve.

I haven't felt a loss in power at all and haven't noticed any change in my boost gauge. At most it will reduce a very slight amount of boost due to the spacer design having permanent holes drilled out to allow the pressure to vent atmospherically.

I prefer this as, to me, the 1.4 TSi engine is delicate. With a tune and intercooler, I didn't want to stress out the components of the car, and therefore found the spacer to be useful for my purpose - with the addition of the blow off noise.

My fuel economy has not changed. Still getting the 600km per tank with spirited driving (probably 50% of the time ). I have read reports that the ECU will adjust accordingly to the spacer - e.g. fuel delivery when on the throttle etc., but I'll be honest and say that I would say this is very negligible, if not unchanged.
