rattle on start up - DSG -

i have noticed a rattle on start up on my TDI- DSG done 90k have had different opinions as to whether its normal or to have it repaired, seems to be dual mass flywheel as in time they create some slack, hence the reason why you hear the rattle, as it seems a very common problem on the DSG, just wondering if anyone knows whether its a serious problem that needs to be recitified or its ok to put up with the rattle, its only on start up & it has no effect on the driving or performance, anyone recommend someone in melb that doesnt charge heroin prices to repair these should i decide to go down this path

This happened to me, same noise , they said it was the flywheel, but they re-built my dsg (under extended warranty) cost about $18k.

Dual mass flywheel would be my first guess, at 90k miles it is going to have some play in it.

Was just about to post a thread on this myself.

My 07 TFSI Jetta (DSG) has just started making a similar rattle. Only when idling on startup from cold and goes away after driving for a bit.

Only done 19000kms.
