so I recently come across a s3 engine with 80k on it from a write off it was slammed up the back so the motor was untouched and im thinking this is a better option instead of going a K04 on my GTI engine. What do u guys think??

Rather than doing an entire engine swap, could you just use the S3 parts (turbo, injectors, intercooler etc) and mate them to your current engine? That's essentially what most aftermarket K04 kits for the GTI are anyway. You'd still need software, installation bits like gaskets and probably a fuel pump too.08 GTI (DSG) | APR Stage 1

dont build what you can buy mate. If you want the engine sell up and get a Pirelli, or do a K04 swap on your GTI and save yourself a bunch of cash!VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life

Well I would never sell for a pirelli it has the dreaded dsg and as for going a ko4 on my engine no matter wat the s3 engine is still a stronger engine thicker gudgeon pins and just stronger internals as well as better camsGood bye GTI Hello Golf R

I think the swap shouldn't be too hard if you have some technical knowledge, the MKV chassis has had this engine in there before so you shouldn't have trouble with finding parts or guides online I would imagine.MKV GTI Pirelli
