  • 2009 Jetta Radio Reception

    Hi
Living in a country area I have noticed my Jetta's radio reception range as pretty poor compared to my previous car a Hyundai i30 hatch with a litle whip aerial on the rear of the roof.
Obviously the inbuilt Jetta aerial doesn't do the same job as the other's. Anyone had an experience in getting an external aerial fitted, or improved their reception (range) in any other way in their Jetta?
Would be interested to hear and maybe get some advice,
    Cheers all

Dunno which radio you have but I found the RNS-510 was much better than the original RCD-300 that came with my car.

I had the same problem in my 2008 Jetta, the signal was great on the Gold Coast but the Brisbane radio stations would suffer.

Problem was solved by VW replacing my RCD300 with a new/reconditioned RCD300.

Might ask for an opinion (check?) of the radio fitted on the next service
