Hi SS3000,
The key would not physically turn in the lock, but appears to be ok now. I sprayed some WD40 into the lock and ran the key in a few times.
With a bit of jiggling, it finally turned. That was last night, I haven't tried it again this morning.

Check out the owners manual and search posts on the forum, you'll find quite obvious answers to most of your questions very quickly. There should also be battery specs in the manual, otherwise call any battery retailer and they'll help you out with the right battery, call around as prices can vary significantly.Track Car: 06 Polo GTI Red Devil mkII
Daily: 2010 VW Jetta Highline
Gone but not forgotten: 08 Polo GTI

Whilst I appreciate some members saying "use the search function" have you tried? You finish up with posts that have absolutely no bearing on the question.
Perhaps I'm pedantic, but I was shocked when the VW logo fell off the back of my car key case. Can new ones be purchased from VW?
It's an aluminium disk with a sticky back about 15mm in diameter with the VW logo in blue. It hides a screw in the case.
Another question. What does AGCOM stand for and what is it? I know, you'd reckon I had better things to do with my time.
Funny how you go down the street for some shopping 5 mins away, and return home 2 hours later taking the long way. What a great drive!

This may not be the appropriate area to ask, but here goes.
Many years ago, I had a brush that fitted onto the end of the hose for washing the car. It had a tap on it to reduce the flow. From memory it was made by Nylex. Like so many good giggers, it's gone AWAL and I want to replace it.
The Nylex web site does not seem to list it, and a check with eBay turns up zilch. Don't want a rotary one, just a fixed head.
Any clues?

Replacement VARTA battery?
Can we nail this once and for all.
I want to talk about batteries. The OEM battery is a VARTA fully sealed unit in my 2006 Golf 2.0 FSI Comfortline. Stickers on top are as follows:- 12V 70Ah 340A DIN and 570A EN/SAE and VAO and 1 J0 915 105 AE.
I have looked at the VARTA web site, and can't find a matching No. This suggests that this battery has been superseded by a later model.
If this is the case, please tell me what the equivalent VARTA code No. is for a replacement battery.
Are these batteries more than a barrow load of gold bars? In the UK, they are around 65 GBP eBay, but that's over there.
I have not checked with a VW Dealer, my wheel barrow of gold bars is probably far too small.
Get talking,

Finished up buying a genuine VARTA battery via a VW dealer. It's identical to the old one except it's 72Ah instead of 70Ah.
VARTA 000 915 105 DG
12V 72Ah 380A DIN 640A EN/SAE
The cost:- $306 all up. I have read reports of them being well over $400, ouch!
Supplied and fitted by vw_tech, one of our members. Couldn't meet a nicer, more enthusiastic bloke.
Many thanks,
Ken

Road noise?
Had my 2006 Golf 2.0 FSI Comfortline for 3 weeks now, and I'm stocked. Not a bad gigger eh?
I have one issue though, road noise. I may be wrong, but I think the tires are Dunlop Eagles. The tires are what ever VW fitted as standard. I have had the tires checked over, and the tire dealer could'nt find any obvious fault.
The tires are noisy, even at low speed. Almost need earmuffs. Is this normal? Is there a tire that runs more quietly?
