Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Thanks to all...

This is just a quick thanks to all those people who have been so helpfull in my search for my new dub.....
for those who know the story and for those that dont.... i began my "quest" for a new golf some 12 or so months ago...
Started at looking at a MK1 Rebuild (supercharger kit in hand) but the lack of quality shells and the fact i no longer have a garage or the spare time to do a complete rebuild eventually had me leaning towards the Vr6.....After a few test drives i decided for something a bit newer but with that V6 Donk.....
i test drove a few MK4 R32's which left me grinning from ear to ear and at that point my decision was made........ R32 all the way.... then the spanner in the works..... Finance problems with the MK4.. being 3 years old.. they said no....

So on thursday i went to my local dealer and put a deposit down for a new MK5 R32... pick it up tomorrow.......

AGAIN thanks to all those people who answered my sometimes dumb questions.. i wont go into specifics but you know who you are... thanks!..

To Blur32 and the others who stated "yeh but have you heard a R32"... yes i have ...

thanks again everyone.. i will post pics as soon as i have a chance

    cheers mario.

That's some journey from Mk1 to MkV.

As for a new R32, well, I'm sure you can't go wrong with that!

Congrats and i'm sure you'll love it. Took mine to a wrx club outing on the weekend as i'm still a member and apparently they could hear the R32 over their rumbly exhaust's and they all loved it to. Not to mention it stuck with an 07 STi in a straight run. Don't be fooled by rubbish in the mags the VW's can take it up to the evo's and wrx's.

R32 is here and sounds awesome, loving the throttle blips on the down changes.
