Hi All,
I own a 2009 Jetta (2.0L turbo) and have noticed quite high oil consumption. The first indication I got was when the oil light went off after driving about 5000 Klms. Since then, I've had an oil consumption test done and the dealer reported back that the car had used up about 400ml of oil in about 1000 klms which according to them is within limits. They told me that 500ml per 1000 klm is the standard. To me this seems very high oil consumption. Basically, I've noticed that the oil dipstick goes from a high reading to low reading after driving about 2000 klms. Is this normal or should I be questioning this further? The car has only done about 17000 klms in mostly short trips.
