  • Need some advice

    Hi all. I've the usual problem with the TFSI Jetta. Exhaust warning light came up 2 days ago. I took her to the dealer to find out what was wrong with the car. They came up with the $1200 dollar solution. Here is the list;

    Turbo Recirculation Valve $130
    Rocker Cover Pressure Regulator Valve $174
    Intake Manifold Changeover valve $537
    Labour $330

    Now, are these prices normal and do I have any cheaper option because $1200 is a lot of money for some valves. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

    It seems odd to me that 3 valves would all die at the same time unless the failure of one causes the failure of the others.

    It's almost as if they have done a scan & are changing components based on the fault codes rather than how the items bench test. (ie: a physical fault in one component can cause a fault code in another functioning component).

    2nd opinion from an independant?

      Not yet. To be honest, I don't know any independent workshop that looks after VW in western suburbs

            I live in West Melbourne. I am going to give a call to Euroclass in Richmond. I'll see what they'll say.
