Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New Wheels Ordered From Us

Ordered my new Audi RS4 style, 19" x 8.5. ET +48 today, AU $1500.00 delivered. Can't wait to get them on the car. What tire to fit is the next biggy?. Won't be conti's again though as they are too noisey. Was thinking about Toyo's. Any suggestion would be welcome. My old stock rims will be for sale (In parts for sale section). Tires have only 13000Ks on them.

Yes, they are from velocity. have been dealing with a guy called, wait for it, John Howard. Hope he's more honest. They do have a good rep though from US VW owners.

Beautiful rims mate!! I think a set of michelins, pirellis, bridgestones (G-Grids) or Goodyears (Eagle F1s) would be perfect!! Good rims and good cars deserve good tyres

Pirelli: P Zero Rosso (good cruise/sport tyre) or Zero Corse (hot sport tyre, track/road, noisier, priced accordingly, worth every $)

By the way, damn hot rim....black all the way!

I traded my GTI rims when i changed wheels and got $900 for them with no rubber left. Not sure if the factory vw badges will fit unless the hole is same size in the centre. Place i got my wheels from got in some very good quality vw badges which look pretty factory. Was from http://www.mswt.com.au/
Though pic they have on their website of my old GTI didn't have the badges yet.

R32 is here and sounds awesome, loving the throttle blips on the down changes.

I've got Falken FK452 235/35 R19 on my rims which are 8.5 wide.. They are like the conti's, but are great in the wet, I've heard also that Dunlop Sport 2's are good, but don't know the $$$$..
