Tyre pressure monitor

Had my light come on the other day and thought might have been one of those things from past experience. Though upon inspection today roofing screw through the tyre. Just goes to show technology is usefull in detecting something before it becomes something much worse.

I have had the light and buzzer come on a few times now. the most recent was 3 weekends ago and the lhf had a screw in the tyre. When I checked the pressure it was down 4 psi. Another roofing screw!!!! Damn things!!
Great thing the buzzer is.
This morning the buzzer came on but that was due to 1.5 degree temperature.......

Only other time i've had mine come up was after a few dyno runs when the tyre pressures came up from the heat generated. Amazing how little things make a car so damn good on the whole.

I have had the tyre pressure monitor go off three times and the first time I ignored it and had to pay over $250 for a replacement tire.

I pay it the respect it deserves now and have discovered that temperature and weight in the vehicle are factors as well as nails.
Still a great feature and easy to reset.

It's also the button Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear) had 'on' the whole time he road tested the GT. As a result he nominated it as one of the 5 worst cars ever. Flooring the car _severely_ limits its acceleration - rather like towing a trailer full of bricks!

Strange that they installed it on the GT - can't think of another model that it's on - mind you, I'm no expert on W buttons!

W was usefull before ESP/VSC etc. In our older car I doubt the Traction Control is good enough to prevent wheel spin on takeoff on snow/ice (and it has a W mode).

W should no longer be required, with Bosch ESP taking care of everything.
