  • RCD300 "No CDC" error with iPod adapter

    Hi all,

I have an iPod adapter cable connected to my RCD300 head unit. It has been working fine until recently. When I plug in my iPod/iPhone, and press the CD button twice, it now says "No CDC".

Has anyone come across this issue or know what could be wrong? Any suggestions?

    Cheers

I would check the back of the unit to see that it's plugged in properly.

Unless the CDC was un coded from a recent dealer visit as it wasn't standard coding?

The coding doesn't need to be changed. When the cd changer (or aux cable in this case - same socket is used) is plugged in the head unit will recognise it.

Try removing the stereo, unplugging it and plugging it back in.

Thanks for the responses guys. Before I go ahead with this though, I read somewhere that the car battery should be unplugged before fiddling with the head unit, otherwise there's a chance the air bag light on the dash will light up? Won't hurt to unplug it I suppose.

You won't need to unplug the main stereo connector, so no need to disconnect the battery.

Unplugging the cd changer/aux in plug from the back of the stereo (can't remember which plug that is sorry) won't trigger the airbag light.

Tried unplugging and replugging the iPod adapter but still no go. I don't have access to a VAGCOM so can't check that.

              Any other suggestions?

              Cheers
