I have a Golf GTI 2.0 with DSG that I bought 2 years ago.
Whilst I love the car, it is completely raping my soul.
Since day 1 of owning it, new from dealer, I have had nothing but issues with it.
Current history (summarised and probably not using correct terminology but gives you an idea):
- Sat Nav replaced
- Sat Nav replaced (yes a 2nd time)
- O2 sensor replaced
- O2 valve (or something) replaced
- Fuel injector replaced
- Wiring body replaced
- Throttle wiring replaced (this one required a tow truck to take the car to the dealer)
- Something tightened (due clunking noise during acceleration from stop)
- Something replaced (due to stalling issue)
The car is currently back in the dealers service center due to the following issue:
Driving along I put my foot down to speed up a little through the lights and nothing happened. I then took my foot off the accelerator and nothing happened (the car kept going at the same speed without increasing or slowing).
I then put it into sport mode and put my foot down again - nothing.
I pulled over to the side of the road and put the car into neutral then back into gear and tried driving off again - nothing.
I turned the car off and back on and it started working again.
Next day, same thing happened again.
Everytime I take the car into get repaired it works for a month or two then starts to fail again. Always having some sort of stalling or complete failure.
Whilst it is lovely hearing everyone tell me I have a lemon for a car, I would like some sort of advice on where I stand and what I can do to get a car that works. I dont have so much money I can afford $55k for a car that is in the garage every two months.
Any advice much appreciated on what steps I should take here.
