  • 2006 MK5 Golf GTI - Alarm standard?

    Hi
Just realised that there are "alarm" buttons on the Driver's B Pillar.
Is alarm standard on the Golf GTIs?

How can I test if it works?

As far as I am aware, the alarm is standard... Best way to test this is by locking the car with the windows down and then reaching into the car, or creating movement in the car... This is how I accidentally found out my PoloGTI came with an alarm as standard!!

It might just be the switch that enables or disables the anti-tow (tilt) switch IF an alarm is fitted.

Alarm should be standard, yes, but stuffed if I can get ours to go off even though it supposed to have movement sensors.

I'd be surprised if it didn't because my bora's got them and it's a fair bit older and cheaper, found out by trying to have a sleep with the doors locked

Mine goes off if I throw something through the sunroof when the car is locked. The indicators flash but it doesn't make a sound. What's the point then???

lock the car and then jack it up
Thats used to really annoy me with my old MK5 GTI cos id keep on forgetting it had an alarm.
