Hi guys
Thought I would share a problem with you I had recently.
About 80km from dealership for lunch and get in and start the car. Message appears on the MFD "Oil Sensor Workshop!" (yes exclamation mark).
I turn off engine and try again. Only appears on starting first time. Ring Roadside Assist who nowadays do not appear to care what the problem is .. just send the RAA out. RAA of course knows nothing about faults with VWs and hence suggests that I get it towed back to Adelaide. Total cost would be around $400.00. We checked the oil .. all OK, quick check on the iPad shows a couple of people in the Toureg forum have experienced the same problem.
Get my balls back from my partner for the drive home .. heart in mouth the whole way. But no problems. Take it to dealership and get told two things. One that it is bad and we need to book in quickly and second that it is not really a problem at all and appears it could be an electrical fault, but to consider it could be low oil pressure as well. As such told to drive it until the book in date for the analysis and repair.
Take it in and funnily enough the message means exactly what I think it would have. The oil sensor was faulty and it needed replacing.
Replaced under extended warranty no probs.
