Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Apr turboback exhaust - scraping?

I'm currently looking into buying a apr turboback. I have noticed on some piks that it seems to hang pretty low.. Does it not sit perfectly in place as the oem exhaust does?

Also considering down the track I want to lower my car with h&r sports and coni yellows which is a 1.5" drop, which could potentially be a problem as I don't wonna be damaging such an expensive exhaust. Hopefully someone can re-assure me theres no problem

Hey mate. I'm not sure what car you have.... I have a Golf R with the APR DP. The cat sits very SLIGHTLY lower than stock. People attempting to put the Unibrace UB need to put a spacer on the mount points for it to fit. I've also had the full TBE "quad" exhaust on the MKV Golf GTI. It too was so slightly lower than I'd still scrap the underside of the front bumper before the exhaust....

    I don't feel you'll have any issues...
