  • Questions from new R32 owner

    Hi guys,
Went out for a very nice Spirited drive this afternoon to Vaucluse with the R32 . Nice twisty roads.
    I have got 2 questions:

Is it normal for the R32 DSG gearbox to hear a noise when it is downshifting. I am not used to this happening on the TDI. Its not a clunk.

What is the average fuel consumption L/100km for city driving for the R32's. The car is very thirsty compared to the TDI.
What are most of you averaging.

Expect it to be about double from my experience when I had the R32 as a company car.

The MK5 R32 will be around the 10l /100 and nore when "spirited" running...... the noise when changing now is proberly the slight rev of the engine on downshift that vw performance cars are designed to do.......

Is it a faint clicking sound? My car had this from pretty much new. Interesting though, it's disappeared since having the DSG serviced at the start of the year... Anyway, if it is a clicking sound it's most likely a solenoid being a bit noisy.
