Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Wheels for my Mk5 Gti - Candy White

Interested in members thoughts on this wheel for the gti. 19' x8.5", ET+48,stud pattern 5x112. They are available from the US. Have not found in OZ which is not surprising though. If anyone knows of OZ supplier let me know. Will also include ebay link and post on "found on ebay" if anyone is interested.

    im torn!

I love those wheels. But theyre starting to be a bit too common on new audis and Mk5s. Kinda like the old Audi RS4 reps on mk4s. Look sweet but every tom **** and harry did it. Look hot in black on a white mk5 though!

the other wheel im thinking about is the phaeton helios design. I think they are starting to make replicas for them OS.

      Black on white

I agree. They have been done a lot. But hard to find anything else that is suitable. I think they will look "the ant's pants" on CW though.

They will look great. Dont think they would suite a CW gti though.

Thanks mate... His price is high though. Can get cheaper from the states. What goes on with the prices of wheels here? Must be because of sales volume. Although, even with that, the price difference does not compute. I should know because I was importing furniture from Asia at one stage. Maybe I should start bringing in some wheels HeHe.

I can recommend that you try Tempe Tyres. They have plenty of VAG reps.

I can now say that the service there was great, and the reps look good - and I'll post pics of my new A8 reps later.

Go the second option (phaeton helios design)... I originally preferred the RS4 replica's for my CW GTI but changed my mind because they look fantastic until you actually put them on your car... The RS4 rims only look fantastic if the car is riding on the rubbers.

Update with the pics when you get it all sorted!

                  Good luck!

How hot are these??????????? Have seen them on a Phaeton and they honestly looked soft, however....on a black golf, now that is hard! Awesome way to keep that OEM+ thing going on whilst being a little different. This you must do
