  • Jetta 2.0tFSI engine fault

Today while driving home our Jetta 2.0TFSI suddenly started missing badly and lost power, felt like it was running on only 3 cylinders. Flashing engine symbol came up on dash then after a few minutes stopped flashing but stayed on but is now in "LIMP MODE". Stopped at my nearby mechanic who plugged in diagnotic "thingy" and came up with several error code one of which said there was an fault in cylinder 3, not sure what the others were......Just had 120K major serv 2 weeks ago.....Any ideas what it may be?????

Need to know what that code was exactly but from what you are saying a coilpack would be my first guess. It probably sounds like a WRX.

Recall 28F5, the amount of coil packs we had in parts was crazy. Towards the end was quite over changing them lol

Ha, yeah still regularly doing the 28F5, you'd think after 9months most cars would of been done by now.
