Today - 870 on BP Ultimate from 49 litres. That is around town - would love to see how far it would go on the open road.

Inner west Sydney to Logan... Do the maths yourself

Not sure of the max but I scored 5.8L/100km going from home (Toowong) to Bribie Island the other day. That's almost TDI territory in my stage 1 TSI

              1011 km's actual (GPS measured).

Average consumption over the life of the car is 5.5l/100km (MFD figure). Chipping it significantly decreased the average fuel consumption.

not sure if cold weather helps consumption?

I'm going to buy a Mark 5 GTi soon when I sell the wife's current car - I'm interested in this thread for anyone who can tell me what the normal - gently driven - fuel consumption should be please ? (my wife isn't a girl racer and acceleration is gentle, with speed limits being stuck to)

Anyone have mapping? If it's equivalent to Viezu's 40hp/85nm - what do you get with that on, and a harder map - if there is an equivalent to Viezu's motorsport 70hp/100nm map then what about that??

I get about 10% fuel savings on my current car with a motorsport map but that's a 3.4 NA porka. I hoped it would be the same story with the VAG engines......

Or should I be looking at a TDi ? I've always had CDi Mercs before which map very well but fancy a GTi for mapping purposes if the eco is ok

                        thanks guys !

I do mostly motorway driving, and get around 720k's per tank. 6.6 l/per 100.
If I'm just using it around town I get around 600k's per tank. Only mods are X-Force cat back and Piper-cross panel filter.

I get my s3 down to 3.9-4 @ 105/110kmph that gives me over 800km+ per tank.

Picked it up from Sydney and drove it to Melbourne

MKV GTI Manual. Best I have had is several runs up the valley at 6.8L/100kms which is around 720kms but my average around town is 9.5L/100kms which is 510kms.

Personally I don't see the point in people who choose the 2.0tdi GT over the GTI just for fuel consumption if you do the math on how many kms you do per year and the saving of a diesel it works out to be only a few hundred dollars per year, unless of course you're doing huge kms a year like 50,000kms then it totally makes sense to go with a TDI.
