dollar for Gearbox Service, is that good?

I am assuming that is DSG gearbox you are referring to. I was quoted around $500 from my local dealer. So yes that seems a fair price.

As Hanz said if it's for the DSG the price is reasonable.

He must have one of the petrol non turbo models as these has a standard auto slushbox, DSG was not available until about MY08 IIRC.

So did Ford with their 4 speed gearbox....but they also designed them to require a rebuild before 100,000kms

A fluid change is cheap insurance and worth doing IMO.

                    ...which is 5years/120,000km

I would change the oil earlier rather than later in the cars life, since you may find a lot of posts over the internet that after the oil change at 150,000km or so, the transmission have failed.

I was refered to them by Dean and volkspower, he says thats the place to go!

I was also referred to A&B from James from Audvolks.. but they quoted me $550.

For that price, I will find workshop that can do the DSG & 60k service at the same time.

Plus the fact they are only open Mon-Fri, it was too much hassle to get Audvolks to do the 60k service & then to A&B to service the DSG.

In my case, I purchased my car at 70,000ks. I'm now at 100,000ks and just found out the previous owner didn't do the dsg service. Wasn't happy when I found out!
