  • TCP Exhaust

Anyone had any experience with these? Done a search but not much came up.

One on ebay here - TCP VW GOLF GTI MKV 3" TURBO BACK EXHAUST | eBay - $1100 for a full SS exhaust is pretty reasonable.

Anyone got one? Know someone with one? How loud it is etc etc?

Try jacquesdub on vwgolf.net.au, he has one and they sound pretty damn good, the rear tips are also nice and chunky too!!

Haha hey pat. Been on here for ages . I have that exhaust system. It's a quality piece. No drone, and it's loud on the outside when you get on it. But hardly any intrueding noises . Tony bear is very nice to deal with if you want to get it directly. .

Any more questions and I'll be willing to answer.

Haha just looked at the link. That's my car lolz.

Smily is yours a full 3"? In those pics it looks like a 2.5" dump and mid, with a flare up to 3" for the last bit. Look closely.

I realise I sell pipes, and I'm not trying to bring anyone down, heck I'm ALL for competition, just interested in the facts, for those pics show otherwise, and if that is indeed the case, it's no Milltek.

Also interested to know where it is made.

Bang for buck it's very keen that's for sure.

Tony (TCP Auto) has been making quality exhausts for Subarus for a while now.. with some guys getting very decent improvements from his systems.. I believe they are made in China but to his specs.. A mate had one on his WRX and before he fitted it we had a good look at it.. they appear to be very well made.. beautiful welds

                  good value I reckon..

If you're getting the full TBE, why not go straight to stage 2?

lol I was so hoping that question wouldn't come up!!! I'm going for a mild stage 1 as well

I realise I might be chastised for what I'm about to say (rightly so maybe ) but for my needs Stage 2 is overkill. I commute 40km a day, so I really want to keep reliable (esp my DSG). My wife also drives the car regularly so I need something that remains really approachable to drive.

I'm just looking forward to how much more free the engine will feel, with the TBE and BMC CDA. The power and torque will be plenty for what I need. I'm not after big numbers

lol thats fair enough. However with REVO, you can get a handheld module which allows you to change the tune from STOCK, SPORT & RACE (and everything in between) in 30 seconds. So if your wife drives it, put it to STOCK mode. As for the DSG, I've been running mine for about 40000km with no issues thus far **knock on wood**.

But I was the same as you initially, until I saw how much improvement the car went from stock to stage 1, so i couldnt help myself lol

                            hi guys,

thanks for the comments on my exhausts, to answer some questions that have been posted up.

The system is 3" all the way, the first system that I made was the 2.5" dump and mid.
Also my systems are made in Taiwan and I keep very high quality standards, welds, mufflers resonators etc. My goal and vision is to produce performance exhausts that perform and fit correctly every time

if you guys have any more questions please dont hesitate to ask

                            Thanks
                            Tbear

So, now got an install question about the exhaust. It's being delivered tomorrow (you beauty!) and I'm considering having it installed Friday as I've already got quotes/tentative bookings.

However, I'm not getting the tune for another couple of weeks. I'm assuming that a TBE with 200cell cat will throw an error from the sensors on the exhaust. My question is, if I get it installed and it does error is that going to cause any issues driving the car in the mean time, before I get the tune with the sensor written out of it. I need to drive a couple of hundred kms over the next week and can't afford to not have the car running well. Or will I just have a light on the dash but no effect on car performance?

                              Help much appreciated!!!
