Shouldn't the OP actually get his facts right before going off half cocked throwing around accusations? What you suggested is a good way to ensure you get no help from the dealer.

I don't know, I personally would investigate and report that someone forged my stamp. I know, you probably say; report it to whom? To answer that

To the OP, don't stress to much about it, it will not change anything, but let the dealer know that someone else used/is using his stamp, if they didn't see the car as per the service record.

As has allready been stated, just get a full service and move on.
This is of course assuming there are no problems with the car.

The other thing the OP is assuming is that dealer would have actually performed all the things that he is concerned may not have been done. I have had services with VW and other brands where some major parts of the service that were charged for were not done. Like independant workshops, some dealers are very good and others are dodgy. Find a reputable workshop, get the full service and enjoy your new VW. The more time you spend worrying about it the less you will enjoy what is a really good car.

What I meant was that he should make sure he has the story straight first, the services may have been performed and he needs to follow this up with the seller to get copies of invoices or similar. Making an accusation about a dealer when he has no proof one way or the other will see them refuse to help him further with sorting this out. Once I knew that the stamps were done without the services being performed I'd talk to the service manager to find out if the stamps are genuine or a replica and if any have been stolen and if need be take it to the dealer principal who will want to sort this out. If the stamps are from a replica or from a stolen stamp I'd take it to the police as it's clearly a case of fraud.

have you considered the car may have had an owner or rego change and therefor invoices may be out of order, or that the dealer just didnt really want to look it up for you.

even if you took legal action what do you expect to happen? you haven't had any losses and if in some way the dealer had to provide free services how good do you expect a forced free service to be. I think the only reason a lawyer hasn't laughed at you is because he's a friend.

Im not trying to be an ******* just realistic, put some engine flush in at your next service and you'll be fine

At the end of the day it's "Caveat Emptor" Buyer Beware for used products. get it checked out by a good workshop, pay for a Pre-Purchase Inspection, list down faults or potential problems and then make a decision as to the worthiness of the vehicle
