Possibly a European that is using a . instead of a , for the thousands separator but given that car is still worth a lot more than $10000 I'd say its a scam, especially as he wants to communicate through a hotmail account rather than through eBay.

First I want to thank you for question about the car. The car is in perfect condition, with no scratches on it, no damage. Hasn't been involved in any accident. All the necessary papers will be provided along with the car.

The total price is $10000 AUD including the shipping to your address. Price reduced for quick sale.


The car is registered in Australia but currently i am located in Broome, WA, because i just finished the divorce with my wife and i have moved here to my parents home. The payment will be made through eBay and only after you will receive the car, i will receive the payment.


It will take around 2-3 working days until you will receive the car and you will have a 3 days inspection period (so you have 3 days to change your mind and refuse or keep the car). Also, I need to know if you have cash in hand because I have a lot buyers interested in the purchase and I don't have time to waste. No offense but if you really want to buy the car I will stop communicating with the other interested buyers.

If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and address so i can initiate the deal through eBay. You must know that eBay will contact you without any obligation to buy it or fees.

I will wait your answer (if you are interested to buy) very soon.

had a very similar story on carsales. guy listed a mkv tdi sportline for 13k....sent him an email car was listed as being in peakhurst nsw. similar story, how he moved to WA blah blah blahthe car was reserved for me?.... send him a deposit thru ebay and paypal to be 'safe'.... i think the scam is to make paypal pay once the buyer realises there is no car and its a scam....the buyer then makes a claim thru paypal. i reported it to carsales and the add got removed.
