  • Top of Oil Cap missing

    Hi guys

Had the low oil light on today. No biggied - keep my standard 1 litre of oil in the boot.

Opened the bonnet and looked to take the cap off to put the oil in .. there is no top portion of the cap!

The bottom portion of the cap was still there, but locked in pretty tight and found that with some "assistance" with the toolkit screwdriver I finally managed to get it off.

Anyone experienced this and or know of the price for one of these oil caps?

Hi there, please check your air cleaner housing is secure and not loose, classic fault mate, ball joints broken or grommets missing, makes it loose causes it to vibrate, and knock the top off the cap, if you are unlucky enough it will draw secondary air and run like crap, Check that and secure it if you have to and buy a new cap.
    Cheers

Exactly. I'm on my third oil cap. Loose engine covers knock them straight off.
