  • HELP PLEASE. Thinking of buying a turbo DSG JETTA

Hey guys, i was thinking of buying a turbo DSG jetta, this particular one infact as it is the only one that i can find that is fully optioned and has the updated screen. what dou you guys think??
2007 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA TURBO DSG 1KM MY07 Private Cars For Sale in NSW - carsales.com.au

I got the seller to do a full NRMA inspection and the main things that came up were minor marks on paintwork, minor fading of drivers seat leather, fluid/oil leak (need to look into this more) and the steering wheel is slightly of centre. everything else is either satisfactory, or just of satisfactory.

what do you think guys, do you think id be paying too much for this?? what should i try and get it for??
also i live in melbourne, and the car is in Sydney, can anyone help me out with things id need to do in terms of registration, stamp duty, transfer etc?? im gonna most like drive the car back from sydney.

Perfect colour combo -black with beige leather. All the factory extra's don't usually add to the price when it comes to 2nd hand ( even though its nice have them ) but this one seems to be priced because of all the extra's as I'm pretty sure you can get a Jetta Turbo these days for under $20,000.

Agree with Poyta's comments. He made a good choice with his colour combo.

PROS Colour combo - I reckon it is the best available from VW.
        Its got desirable options
        Its a VW

        CONCERNS Oil/fluid leak
        Service history??

Remember, when haggling the price, once you make an offer, you can only go up from there. Bottom line is, if you want the car and it all checks out OK, just do it.

        Good luck

tanks for that. it was an ex lease car so it has got full service history from a dealer. the guy selling it has told me that the lease company values the cars residual amount at 28000 so hence he priced it at 26000. im gonna see if i can get it down to hopefully the 24000 to 25000 mark, because i still need to pay for vic plates, rego stamp, etc.
with the satnav i was just thinking of replacing it later down the track with a rns510, would that require much work??

wow, that 07 plate actually looks pretty damn nice. like 190kw, just wondering if it would be P plate legal?? ive driven the 2 tdi before and that went all right, the reason i really like the black one is the bi xenons, not many came with them optioned from factory and it is one in a few.
in al honesty do you think that 12k worth of options, would equal 6k more when selling??

No pradz its not about the extras when your selling a car its about the age and kms. that black one has too many kms. that O7 Plate you don't want to buy a modified car you want it bone stock because the guy could of thrashed it thats high kms for an 07 pass on it.

i like those 2 robbie, but if i can get the seller to come down by 1000 or 2000, it comes into the same ball park as the two youve suggested, and id have to add in satnav, maybe some bixenons and things, i like the silver one a little more though, something about a lip spoiler that i just love

you got a link for your car??
