At least one person with a turbo R32 has these in Sydney. There would be a few VW tuners who might have fitted these, so there should be a few local cars with this upgrade.
How wide do you want (need!) to go?

Actually upon closer inspection and some research I've discovered they only add 7mm to the overal width which is bugger all. I was only thinking this would be good because currently my tyres scrub a bit when I'm turning and hit a pot hole but I guess I could achieve similar gains and results from some guard rolling.

Thats for the Fibreglass ones too! - Can you image how expensive the carbon ones are? They do look very tough though, I like them a lot - I've noticed that they also include the small attachments either side of the front bar to blend it into the factory front
I remember following a thread a little while back where a company was developing a set of wide fenders that allowed you to easily fit 10" wide wheels and 265mm wide tyres all round. They were going to make a kit for the standard Golf and also one for 2 door and 4 door GTi's. All designed to go together with the standard OEM bodywork. Not sure what ever happened to it or if they ever become available but I think they were quite good.
Not really but at least it would match the front - the wider front guards are great for getting in bigger rubber on the front but it won't allow you to rotate the tyres ever again and It may look a little weird.

All depends on what you want the car to do (on the track!) The Japanese go crazy over ~11 inch wide front rims & up to 295 profile rubber, some match it on the rear, some run 235 rear / 265 front. I would love to test some different setups myself, but don't have any wide guards (nor a rim selection!) - Even if it allowed 245's on the front, that would have to be an improvement!
