Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem in their Jetta or VW. When driving in normal D shift sedately their appears to be a rasping rattle noise coming from the engine from about 2000-3000rpm. Don't appear to get the noise in S shift or manual. At the 15000km service I mentioned it to the dealership and they told me to monitor it and that it didn't appear to be a problem. Any thoughts?

From what you've described, it sounds something like what a lot of mk6 gti owners have been having a problem with. The wastegate actuator rod rattles at around 2,500-3000 rpm. There Is a very long thread about it on the mk6 forum. -

Yeah I also have it at about 2,200rpm.
