Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Where is the VAG COM port in a MKV Jetta?

    Hi all,
I need to find out where the VAG COM port in my MKV Jetta is.
Should be getting a Bluefin delivered tomorrow, hence my need.
    Thanks,
    Geoff.

Driver side footwell close to the door. Further down from that little flip open storage area near the headlight switch. It's pretty obvious when you see it - a huge d-shaped connector.

The installer doesn't know that is why he is asking

User installation required, hence user requesting installation instructions!

I think that the instructions are claer enough with the unit.

          Enjoy!

                  No,
                  You do it yourself.
I have the programmer on my desk right now, just got delivered via Oz Post this morning.
I have already read the car's ECU programming and mailed it off the Superchips UK. Updated program will be ready MAX 8 hours, reconnect bluefin to car, load new program - vroommm.
I can also reload the default ECU programming when required.

HAZAHH very nice I like that makes you feel like you have done something yourself to the car to make it go better. I know it would put a smile on my dial

I hope you like the Bluefin as much as I do geoffp. I have had mine for a few months now and it still puts a smile on my face when I put the foot down and when I'm just cruising around I still get about 5.3L/100km.
I haven't tried any other chip brands but I am impressed with the Bluefin

                      EDIT: 07 Sportline 2.0TDI DSG

                        Hey Trunch,

Sent my stock ECU program to Superchips server at about 11:00am this morning. Keep checking my email every 30 minutes or so, but in reality as of the time of this post it is still only 06:48am in London, so I think I will still have to wait a bit yet.

Anyhow, great to hear you like you Bluefin. Have you had an problems with it at all? Even small things you have found?

                        Cheers,
                        Geoff.

They will wear if you drive that way as well.
