As you know i had a new DSG gearbox installed last week, and i haven't driven the car since i bought it home only done 35km well today had to take the wife to the Dr's and the car wouldn't start instead i got a message on the MDF
OIL PRESSURE ENGINE OFF so Ive rang road side assist i just hope its nothing major .
Have to Wait up to 90 minutes for the service man , let you know what happens next .

Its just been one thing after another , since the last service

The NRMA came tried to start the car ,plugged in his cable and couldn't find any fault codes .
The only thing i could think of was the Oil pressure switch was either disconnected or broken and as the NRMA service man didn't know where the switch was ,he wasn't prepared to fiddle with the car, just told me to call Barlo in the morning.

Does any one know where the oil pressure switch is located ?

This morning i again rang Roadside assist and asked for someone with VW experience,When the NRMA service man arrived he had doubts that he could do any thing to help me,
Anyway we tried to start the car and there was nothing ,the second time after about 30 seconds of cranking there was a couple of ignitions and again on the 3rd time again after 30 seconds the car kicked over on a couple of cylinders then it sprang into life ,
He was of the opinion that it could of been a fuel air lock but couldn't say exactly what it was, i rang Barlo and they were stumped as well
I'll just have to see if it happens again ,as Barlo are completely booked out till after Easter .

Now has any one heard of this happening to a Vw diesel car ???

Sure. Happened to me when I removed the inlet manifold & EGR Valve to clean it up - wouldn't start for while but after cranking it over and over it kind of strang into life just like you described. Don't know why it happened, - just happy it started. I never got any warning lights though.
