OK, my GTI arrives 2 weeks. I am going to do a remap. I'd love to hear from anyone with one of the above suppliers remap done, or even better, anyone that has tried more than one. They all seem to have same warranty, similar cost? etc Each of them claim the others are crap, so who do you believe....

Don't have anything to offer you in the way of advice as mine is not chipped at this point. I'll be watching this thread with interest to see what sort of info is offered up but past history suggests you may be opening a can of worms by asking this question!
Cheers

Hi Chico, welcome to the forum.
This topic has been raised 100's of times and quite often can become a very heated issue.
I suggest that you look into previous posts. Each supplier offers different claims. Each have their merits, and not to many downsides.
My own GTi is APRed with the full exhaust and an intake. I am more than happy with it. Average fuel consumption around the city is 9.3 litres and open road is approx. 8 litres per 100. Power delivery is more than adequate!
All the best and congratulations on your purchase! AndrewPar 6 Golf GTI. Coilovers, BBS CH Wheels, APR'd

I had my GTI chip back in 06 2 months after I had it with APR, ever since I have been happy with the software, over time I have build up to APR TBE and Carbonio intake.
Go see Guy Harding at east brisbane who does the APR and Oettinger chip and have a chat to him and maybe have a drive as well in his mod GTI.
Next time there is GTG you should come along there are a few of us out there in bris who have APR or Oettinger some have Bluefin as well.
I am always willing to take someone for a spin to show them the setup I have.06 GTI MK5 Tornado Red, APR Tuned; ,

as gtimk5 says..
find who you think provides you with good information and is helpful to you, someone whose possibly close to you, and go for a ride in a few cars and possibly drive them to make your own judgement. its much of a muchness in the end, you will hear a lot of opinions and outputs from every chip+mods from each chip/flash provider.. most range from 150-165kw at the wheels once chipped thereabouts! What’s behind you doesn’t matter..

I flashed my TDi Jetta with Bluefin late last week.
Very, very nice - not madly wheel spining everywhere, just a great increase in overall useable power.
Here is the link over at golfmkv - very interesting and loonnngggg thread..
