Seems the wheel bearing in my R32 is going. Does anyone know if all the golfs run the same front wheel bearings, or are the R32 ones specific?

    Thanks

If it's not scallop'd tyres, then yeah it's probably a wheel bearing.

If the stud pattern on an R32 is the same as a regular MKV, then yeah, it'd be the same. If not, it'd only be how far apart the bolt holes are for the wheel bolts.

Worked it all out. For anyone else that has this issue, the wheel bearings are the same through the Audi A3, Golf range. Part no for the front wheel bearings (complete) is 1T0498621.

Here is a guide to changing them yourself. DIY Wheel Bearing

        They're pretty simple. A complete bolt-on affair.

Yep, changed them last night. Biggest hassle was moving the drive shaft in/out to get to all the bolts.

I usually undo the 3 nuts that hold the lower balljoint to the lower control arm, and pull the strut outwards.
