Key remote issue

I went to unlock my 2007 Jetta this morning and nothing happened?? thought it was just battery so I changed the battery and still wont open. When I press the unlock/ lock button the little red light flashes.

The only thing I can think of was my car keys was mixed in with my unit door opener so might have been be de-synchronised.

any ideas what I need to do?

Did you try to open it with the key,Then once you insert it into the ignition it might reset its self .

Continuous pressing causes them to lose their synchronicity.

Thanks guys, The car door opens with the key and even starts the car! just wont open the doors with the remote. I'm wondering if I need to go to dealer or can a VW specialist do this too.

There should be instructions in the owner's manuals on how to re-synchronise the remotes. Failing that, the dealership will be able to do it for you.

I found that battery holding contacts need to be cleaned in the remote. It stops openning doors once every 2-3 month. If you indeed lost sync someone placed instruction, just google, not a big deal to teach the remotes. I could not find it in the manual though.
