HSY imports or dealer. Don't get non genuine filter, it's not worth it and you will most likely pay more than for genuine.Originally posted by Kaan View PostAs title says, where can I buy genuine or aftermarket oil filter for 2.0t FSI except vw in Melbourne? Highly unlikely to pay more. VAG filtration product is just re-branded M&H/Bosch, which is available through Imparts anywayOriginally posted by Transporter View PostDon't get non genuine filter, it's not worth it and you will most likely pay more than for genuine.

Yes, I know that VW doesn't make their filters. But, I can't get a better price for oil filters for late model VAG cars from HSY and I didn't try Imparts yet. The oil filter for Touareg and MK5TDI was always cheaper from the dealer. It may be a bit different in the case of older cars. Also I haven't noticed BOSCH branding on any oil filter for late model cars, they're all Mahle, Knecht, M&H or Purflux.Originally posted by Valver. View PostHighly unlikely to pay more. i order my stuff online from US or UK. Much cheaper than dealers is Aust given i order a few at a time and i have 2 cars.
just google, there are many sites as long as you know the part number you are looking for.
you'll be surprised the amount you'll save on parts.
most cases over 50%.

I suppose the only problem would be when there is a warranty claim. The leaking oil filter has a potential to seriously damage the engine and the USA or UK is quite far. For that reason most workshops would use a local supplier. I had 2x leaking oil filter in past 15 years, luckily the engine was fine since the customer noticed it before he run out of the oil in the sump. I was fully reimbursed by the oil filter supplier, though I wouldn't like to chase the claim in the USA.Originally posted by minircc View Posti order my stuff online from US or UK. It's something to keep in mind when you buy parts of the ebay or from OS.Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link

FYI: That's because most Bosch filters are made by M&H and not all will be rebranded for the OE market (though, many still are depending on our stock). This only happens for aftermarket and OES in most casesOriginally posted by Transporter View PostAlso I haven't noticed BOSCH branding on any oil filter for late model cars, they're all Mahle, Knecht, M&H or Purflux.

So, they're M&H filters then. Aren't they?Originally posted by Valver. View PostFYI: That's because most Bosch filters are made by M&H and not all will be rebranded for the OE market (though, many still are depending on our stock). This only happens for aftermarket and OES in most cases
