Replacement after-market headlight install?

Hey All,

Looking at purchasing a set of these:

VW GOLF 5 V MKV GTI RABBIT R32 HALO PROJECTOR HEADLIGHT (eBay item 160560098486 end time 16-Apr-11 04:45:40 AEST) : eBay Motors

or these:

VW GOLF 5 V MKV GTI RABBIT R32 HALO PROJECTOR HEADLIGHT (eBay item 160560098599 end time 16-Apr-11 04:45:52 AEST) : eBay Motors

I have a few questions:

1. How easy are they to install? Do I need to remove the bumper bar? Is there instructions on the 'net somewhere?

2. Are there any negatives to installing these units - apart from they may not be some peoples taste?

3. Are replacement bulb easy to get in Australia?

4. Are the any other problems I should be aware of?

are you going for halogen projectors? or xenons?

I am also investigating options to upgrade my missus' golf gti... however I'm keen to get xenon after-market, now before everyone jump on me, yes I know it's illegal and may void insurance etc etc...

here's a diy video on how to get access to the headlights, and you will need to remove the entire front bumper

keen to hear what you go for and how it works out... would serve as a good guide for me as well

Just one caveat - if these are sold in USA, just make sure you ask the seller that they also have RHD version as otherwise, the headlights might aim at oncoming traffic and dazzle other drivers. Good luck with it mate.

Those headlamps aren't worth the plastic they are made of.
