My MKV R32 Stinks!!

Hi All, i think my 4 year old R32 has sprung a leak! There is this putrid smell coming from somewhere inside and i cant figure out where it is coming from? Although we have had some recent rain and the car has been parked outside, none of the carpets are wet? I did however spot a little water in and around the spare tire so im assuming water is coming in somehow and causing the stink!

Anyone else had any problems with he rear boot seals on their MKV golf?? If a seal is loose am i covered by warranty (i have a 3 year extended factory warranty)?

Have you checked the cabin air filter?

I had a Cat pee on my plenum. The smell went into the heater and filter.

Cats....... Im not a fan.

Check the Cabin/Air filter.
Also check the drainage lines around the sunroof if you have one as i believe there have been a few compliants from other Vw owners of leaves getting caught and rotting in the drainage areas.
