Jetta Cruise Control Issue

Hey guys. Just got a used 06 Jetta TFSI and have noticed that the cruise control works intermittently. My car does have extended warranty via NWCO but it doesn't mention anything about repairs/cover for the cruise control. Questions are:

1. How much will it cost to repair?
2. As this wasn't mentioned/tested prior to the sale, is the seller obligated to pay for the repair? What do I do if he disagrees?

Is it manual or DSG?
On my Bora manual, the switch under the clutch pedal failed and caused my cruise control to drop out or not engage. At first the service guys did a reload of the ECU but on further inspection found the faulty switch. No idea about DSG cruise control unfortunately

You really want to get the cr scanned for fault codes. Having a guess on what it could be is fraught with danger and wasted money possibilities.

Could be a simple switch fault but you can see if it is with the scan.

Hi, its possible to be the switch. My cruise went intermitant

I've got the dsg model. Can any mechanic scan the codes or does it need to be vw workshop or someone like jmac?

They need to have the correct software (VCDS), so yes you do need a specialist mechanic. That said, Jimmy is the bomb and will look after you no worries.
