Changing Light Bulbs "uhg"

Just went out and bought 4 H7 NARVA ARCTIC BLUE globes for the Gti as the stock are crap. I now hate the people who build the "peoples car". What a pain in the butt. Low beam was easy, as it should be. However high beam has a silly wire clip holding the globes in that falls out when trying to remove the globe. Simple I thought just clip it back in and "Bobs your Uncle", B------T!!!. Half an hour later for each side and the jobs done. Now, I know what you are thinking "I must have ten thumbs" let me tell you a very small midget ( nothin against small people) with a large Sidcrome tool kit would end up spittin chips. Hope I don't blow a high beam very soon as don,t want to do again in a hurry. Will try out tonight when it gets dark. Better be worth the bloddy effort. Got the globes from Autobarn $119.00 for 4 globes. Wish that was fitted

Universal joints on the fingers help! The park light globes are worse! It takes patience to change them but Mk4s are worse!

I find the Jetta headlights a bit ordinary myself, I'd be interested to hear what sort of improvement these globes make.

If you are happy with them perhaps I could bring mine over for you to fit them? (Settle down, just kidding!)

Just been for a drive down a country road, much whiter although could still be better. Worth it though.

I had trouble doing mine as well, altho I drive mk3 the space inside are so tight, especially putting the metal holding wire on the bulb.

Next time just Undo the whole head light, we have 4 bults on the light. takes 2 mins to unbolt. Save time and potentially saves a few drops of blood as well.

Wouldn't that mean you would need to re-align the headlight?

can some1 tell me how to take out my park light bulbs?? seems like it wont budge!

Grab the closest part of the bulb holder (or wire if you are unable to get your hand that far in) then you are looking to wriggle it right and pull at the same time, then left, then right etc.

I don't have a pic, but it is a round holder with two tabs that retain it, once one tab is loose the other is easily dislodged.

I turned mine 90 degrees to remove them. They were a bugger though!

I'm about to try replacing the highbeam bulbs and city lights this weekend. Wish me luck :p

Changing the headlight bulb for halogen and HID VW Jetta GLI GTI Rabbit

ok so i did mine this weekend past pretty easy to do the cap with the wires wiggles off be patient and use a little force as they get pretty stuck on after that comes off unhook the metal clip by pressing down on it slightly till it unhooks and moving it right.
The city light i found a bit of a PITA as i couldn't grip it. get a pair of long nose pilers and work it back and forth side to side as u gently pull and it should pop out after some effort.
