Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Well i got the car back and what a disappointment it was, Firstly the LED lights i had installed and wired to the ignition were now wired to the parkers as a so called Auto electrician couldn't work out how to rewire them,So now i have 2 error lights on my instrument panel one is the Engine sign and the other one is the glow plug sign , one light had to be installed into the new fog light grill as it was broken it stuck out a good15 mil further than the other one and the wires were embedded into the Stickaflex they used instead of coming out the back they were wrapped around the light, also no bonnet protector installed' said he would order one for tomorrow.
But thats no all folks, So i drive home park in the garage and suddenly a loud noise coming from under the bonnet, turn off the engine and look to see if there is any thing , turn engine back on and it sounds like a jumbo jet in my garage shine the torch behind the radiator and see the secondary fan cutting into the Air intake , so i turned off the engine and pull apart the air intake , guess what the radiator is not attached to the support and is rocking around up against the fan ,i can move it about 50 mil its just sitting there , also the windscreen bottle is loose no attachment also the rubber is missing from the drivers guard to stop the bonnet from moving.
So Ive just spend 90 minutes removing the LED lights and repositioning them and tomorrow ill go to the Auto electrician i know and get the rewired and take the bill to the repairers,

Igot up this morning and decided to check the fuses , found the Glow plug fuse gone and replaced it and one code disappeared from the cluster,i then found the LED's worked off the ignition wire?[ How does a Auto electrician find a dead wire and not check the fuses but instead rewire the LED's to the parkers.
So i tied the radiator back away from the air intake and went to the panel shop, showed him the air box flexible section cut through and the radiator flopping around.
They had to pull off the front bumper to access the radiator support apparently it wasn't clipped in correctly and when the car was started there was no more codes on the cluster,so there must be a sensor on the radiator.
He ordered a air box section and the guard block and will call me when there in,
Other than those few dramas I'm happy with the workman ship the paint work is very good and gaps are uniform,
And as i have the car booked in on the 30 th for a new Mechtronic i didn't want any hassle with unwanted codes on the dash.

Three different auto electricians and the dealer couldn't work out that the work done by that same dealer had caused a current leak in my Mum's car's electrical system that drained the battery if not driven for over 24 hours.
Good help is hard to find.
Cheers,
