Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Scuff marks on bottom of door trim

I've got some scuff marks on the lower door trim on my Jetta. Looks to be from shoes. Tried cleaning it with plain water, no luck.

Any suggestions on a good product to get the marks off?

(I mentioned it at the service today as they were there when we collected the car 1mth ago, salesperson said to mention it at the service which I did ... anyway I just noticed on getting home the scuffs were still there, will ask them tomorrow)

Do the scuffs look like they have come from boot polish or maybe the sole of a shoe.

Those marks can be removed using a fine clay brick. I use a Zymol clay brick, it removes these types of marks brilliantly. Small build up of tar, even minor scratches can also be removed (took out a scratch that was made when someone keyed my wife's car).

Yeah they look like that. Will give the claybar a whirl, I've got one - never thought of using it on the plastic trim!
