  • MKV Leather

    Hi all,

    Great forum.

I was on the path to purchasing a new MKV GTI with my desired spec - Red exterior, Beige leather interior. After talking to 2 dealers locally apparently Beige leather is now unavailable in any GTI. Why? Its a 50K car. Naturally I can go aftermarket but then the surrounding plastics don't match which can make the look of the car.

Can anyone get Beige leather? Is this just 2 uninterested dealers?

If you wear jeans when driving your car you don't want beige... trust me... it will be blue by the end of year 1...

I spoke to my dealer and he said it has just recently become available in the GTI... I'd question the bloke you spoke to again.

This is incorrect you cannot get beige leather on any Golf, including GTI.

The colour isnt "called" Beige, its latte, or some sort of coffee label, but its beige.

I have a customer with an 06 GTi that has factory beige looking leather and carpets. I would specify black carpets if you can get the beige like leather. The leather is keeping clean but the carpets look secondhand now....

Latte leather replaced beige. It's a different colour - a bit darker than beige. Coffee coloured is a good description. Can be ordered on the GTI.

Its called Latte Macchiato, and its the colour of weak tea. Not very "sporty" IMO.

My current ride has beige leather and carpets. Very hard to keep it looking tidy, i put black rubber mats in the footwells, which helps. FWIW i would not go with a light coloured interior again, but they do look shmick when they are new, esp when coupled with a dark exterior paint.
