Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Where do you buy your aftermarket performance parts?

I'm looking for a new intake for my S3.
Either a BSH True Seal, Evoms or VF Engineering and have only been looking at online US stores.

Made me wonder, where does everyone else buy their aftermarket performance parts like intakes, etc?
Are you buying locally? If so where because I have no idea where to buy VAG aftermarket parts from locally or are you all buying from online stores?
Which ones, etc and what shipping method do you generally use?
It sucks paying $200USD shipping for a $250USD air intake.

Buy a heap of stuff and then forward it to shipitto.com, and then pay one lot of shipping.

I've used NAMotorsports.com and they were great, the prices are pretty good, email about shipping if your only buying one thing, they will adjust it in most cases for you.

Just discovered shipito and agree, it is excellent.
Already been able to save a lot.

I've always found tmtuning's freight to be reasonable. They never combine postage though because they often come from different locations. Some items have free shipping though.
