  • EPC error and Throttle Sensor issue

just experienced an EPC error and losing power on the way back from work. There's no feedback from the pedal to the throttle and had to turn off the engine to restart but it recurred moments later.

VW Assist sent RACV to have a look and the reader noted it's throttle sensor failure. He reset it but moments later, EPC lighted up again while still idling.

    Anyone experience this before?

VW Assist said to call tomorrow morning for them to arrange with any available dealerships nearby for towing the car to the available dealership.

Mine's still under warranty. Hope to get a loan car while this is being looked into. Such inconvenience is a pain but on the other hand at least the fault is occurring within the warranty time-frame.

Yeah mate. I had that problem about a week after I bought the Jetta second hand. After the EPC light came on, I thought it was a bit weird, but then moments later the little picture of the engine came on. I got the missus to check out the manual but it said that there should have been some writing on the display in the dash, which there wasn't so I assume it wasn't quite as bad as what it sounded. I dropped it off to the dealership and they diagnosed it to be a faulty accelerator assembly. They replaced the whole accelerator assembly and all is good. The car was actually then much nicer to drive. I assume that there was something a little bit wrong with the original accelerator. They will more than likely diagnose it as that mate. No biggy. I was assured that the engine was all good. Let us know how you go.
